Noble M12 GTO-3
It’s very basic
After
4
Esprits
the
time
came
for
a
change,
so
after
toying
with
a
Porsche
996
I
settled
on
a
Noble.
The
M12
GTO-3
has
a
Ford
Duratec
3.0
litre
engine
with
twin
turbos
and
an
air-to-air
inter-cooler,
which
produces
352
bhp
and
350 lb/ft of torque.
As
it
only
weighs
about
1080
kg
this
gives
a
0-60
time
of
3.7
seconds
and
0-
100 of 8.7 seconds.
It
only
has
two
buttons;
one
to
start
the
engine
and
one
to
turn
the
fog
lights on. That’s it. There is nothing else to fiddle with.
Not very practical
As you can see, the Noble is basically a steel space frame with a plastic body
bolted on. And most of the body unbolts and lifts off in a couple of minutes.
Like
the
Esprits,
the
engine
is
in
the
back.
But,
unlike
the
Esprit,
it
does
not
have
a
boot.
So
the
only
space
for
stuff
you
have
is
behind
the
seats
and
on
the
parcel
shelf.
It
makes
going
away
in
it
a
bit
of
chore,
but
it’s
not
impossible,
you
just
need
to
have
smaller
bags
that
you
can
ram
behind
the
seats.
